At Laurel Lake, our hard work and efforts are rewarded daily by the patients and residents we serve. Not only are we thanked in person on a regular basis, we receive countless letters, poems and artwork showing appreciation. These stories are representative of many we receive. "I moved to the Village at Laurel Lake in the fall when my physician recommended it. Prior to the move, I was living alone and it was getting difficult for me. The move and transition was an easy one. All the staff have been extrememly helpful and caring. During the winter, I became ill and needed cardiac surgery, but before I could return home I needed to go to a rehab facility to get a little stronger. I chose to go to Laurel Lake Center, the skilled nursing facility attached to the assisted living. I received intense rehabilitation there and still could see my friends next door. Before I knew it, I was back on my feet and moved back to my apartment."

"It may seem odd, perhaps even unbelievable, that an individual who has been convalescing from surgery for more than two months--and with mobility pretty much confined to a hospital bed and a wheel chair--would claim that "It's been a pretty good nine weeks." But that's been my experience at Laurel Lake. And the credit goes to those of you with whom I came in contact, providing advice and services; quite likely those of you behind the scenes, as well. The thoughtful care and consideration--including music recitals and other entertainments that came with my residency--exceeded my expectations, making the period away from the familiar warmth of home a welcomed substitute. I can't help but comment, too, on the remarkable skill and tolerance displayed by individuals in their handling of the more difficult patients. I would want any friend or relative of mine who was similarly afflicted to be handled in the same caring and attentive manner. To each of you in nursing, therapy, maintenance, and administration comes my heartfelt thanks and gratitude. If I have to do it again, I shall pray that a bed is open at Laurel Lake."

"I cannot say enough about the excellent care I received at Laurel Lake. The physical therapy department worked with me every day, and within three days I was able to walk on my own without a cane. Their wonderful advice and uplifting spirit gave me the push I needed to return to a normal life. Thank you, Laurel Lake, for getting me back on my feet."
